Hello Readers! Well I have an announcement to make! The Pink Pom Pom Project has finally produced its Spring collection of scarves for Breast Cancer survivors undergoing, or having finished, cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy all through out the UK. The first batch is due any day now (see fabric combinations above)!
I figured since I would still have almost no hair all through out the Spring/Summer months, why not make a collection of fun fabulous scarves for myself and something others patients can enjoy, together! I have carefully selected textiles from some of my favourite designers such as Heather Bailey, Jenean Morrison, and Dena Designs.
The actual scarf itself is based on a design my mother made herself in the 1970′s and wore through our summers growing up. It is my honour to introduce to you our very first scarf which is appropriately called ‘The Ecky‘ named after her. It was and still is my mother’s nickname. She is elated she could be of help by making such a huge contribution to this fine cause! Thanks Mom!
And remember these scarves are made with love and consideration. They are the complimentary collection to our previous Winter/Fall collection and like them, they are our gift to patients undergoing chemotherapy!
We currently have two locations to get these scarves, The Haven Breast Cancer Support Centre in Fulham, London and The Harley Street Clinic, Macmillan Cancer Support Centre on Harley Street, London. You must be a part of their programmes in order to receive one for FREE.
The scarves are machine washable and 100% cotton with tie back at nape. There are 5 different colour combinations (above) and sizes offered are S/M (21.5″) or M/L (23″).
However, if you would like to give one to a breast cancer survivor that you know, please contact me directly. Or if there is a cancer support centre nearest you, that you think would be interested in receiving the scarves for other patients, we are most happy to provide an informational packet for you or contact the centre on your behalf.
Please contact me directly, Alex at alex@stayabreast.co.uk or call +44 (0)7957 748 616 for additional information. We can send samples, signage, pamphlets and make a presentation to your support centre.
This programme is based in London, UK at the moment, BUT we can make arrangements for a survivor to get one any time AND we hope we can spread across the pond very soon!
